Antique Champlevé Enamel and Gilt Bronze Desk Seal
A little jewel for the writing desk. The gilt bronze handle swells into a graceful paddle shape covered in champlevé enamel: a cream and pink flower at the center, surrounded by scrolling foliage in turquoise, cobalt, red and green, with the colors continuing down the slender stem to a stepped base.
The rectangular seal face is engraved with an elegant script monogram, so it still makes a beautiful impression in wax. Use it to seal letters and invitations, or simply display it on a desk alongside an inkwell and a few favorite books.
A wonderfully charming decorative wax seal featuring intricate champlevé-style enamelwork in a beautiful palette of deep cobalt blue, turquoise, soft pink, ivory, and emerald green.
The richly decorated upper portion tapers into a slender handle before terminating in a beautifully shaped metal sealing base.
Inspired by the decorative artistry of the late 19th-century Belle Époque, this delightful little treasure recalls a time when handwritten letters were sealed with wax and even the most practical accessories were designed to be beautiful.
