Antique Round Gilt Frame with Ribbon Bow Crest and Blue Silk Mount

One of the prettiest frames we have found in a while. The round gilt frame is edged in a double border of beading and twisted rope, and crowned by a cast ribbon bow with sprays of flowers trailing to either side. Inside, a soft blue silk mount is set with tiny applied gilt wreaths and a delicate floral garland, all surrounding a round opening with its own rope-twist bezel and a pale pink silk ground.

The back is a patterned gilt plate with a folding easel and a ring for hanging, so it can stand on a dressing table or nightstand or hang on a wall. It is a perfect home for a small cherished photograph or a miniature.
