Antique Gilt Bronze Figural Desk Seal with Female Bust
An enchanting antique-style wax seal featuring a beautifully sculpted young woman emerging from an elaborate arrangement of blooming roses, flowing foliage, and classical ornamentation.
Her graceful profile, softly swept hair, and delicate features evoke the romantic artistry of late 19th-century France, when even the smallest everyday objects were transformed into miniature works of art.
The richly ornamented handle features cascading roses, intricate scrollwork, and a slender architectural pedestal, culminating in a decorative sealing base.
Wonderfully sculptural from every angle, this charming piece captures the elegance and imagination of the Belle Époque.
A lovely little sculpture for the writing desk. The handle is topped by the bust of a young woman with her hair swept up in a chignon and roses at her shoulder, and below her the handle flows down in rococo scrolls, flowers and acanthus leaves to a fluted, stepped base.
The cushion-shaped seal face is engraved with two initials ZY or ZP, so it still makes a crisp impression in wax. Use it for letters and invitations, or simply enjoy it on a desk or in a display of small treasures.
