Antique Gilt Filigree Jeweled Photo Frame

This frame is all sparkle. A rectangular gilt frame is surrounded by a deep border of lacy filigree roundels, scalloped all the way around and rising to a domed crest at the top, and the whole surround is studded with little paste stones in ruby red, sapphire blue, emerald green, amber and clear. In the light it twinkles like a piece of jewelry.

The exceptionally delicate openwork features an elaborate arrangement of scrolling vines, tiny floral motifs, and graceful ornamental flourishes, creating a wonderfully romantic, lace-like effect.

It still holds a sweet hand-tinted photograph of two little girls, one with a white hair bow, set in an oval mount with a fine gilt line. We have left it in place; it can easily be replaced with a photograph of your own. A bronze back plate with a shaped folding easel lets it stand on a dressing table, desk or nightstand.
