Antique Louis XVI Style Round Gilt Bronze Frame

A beautifully classical little frame. The round gilt surround is cast with a band of leaves and flowers and crowned by a laurel wreath tied with a fluttering ribbon bow. From the bow, garlands of husks swag down to each side and end in pendant drops, and a matching garland hangs beneath, so the whole frame has the graceful symmetry of the Louis XVI style.

Inside, a warm wood ring frames a round opening finished with a beaded gilt bezel. It currently holds a woven floral textile, and it would be just as lovely with a miniature portrait, a small photograph or a treasured piece of embroidery. Hang it on its own or add it to a gallery wall of small gilt frames.
