A striking Fenton Art Glass footed vase, beautifully formed in a rich, jewel-toned emerald green with a dramatic hand-worked silhouette.
Standing approximately 7.5” tall at its highest point, the vase features a graceful elongated body rising from a rounded pedestal foot. Its most distinctive feature is the spectacular hand-worked crimped and pulled rim, shaped into a series of tall, fluid peaks that give the glass an almost organic, sculptural quality.
The foot is molded with a lovely petal-like design, a subtle detail visible through the translucent emerald glass. The substantial body catches light beautifully, shifting from deep forest green in shadow to brilliant jewel-like emerald where the light passes through.
Founded in 1905, Fenton Art Glass Company became one of America’s most celebrated decorative glassmakers, renowned for its extraordinary range of colors and its use of hand-finishing techniques. The individually worked rim gives this piece the slight variations and movement that make hand-finished Fenton glass so appealing to collectors.
Elegant enough to stand alone, this vase is especially beautiful on a mantel, console or bookshelf, or layered into a collection of colored glass and crystal.
